Worth Avenue, Palm Beach, Where the Haute Couture Comes to You

Designer Ala von Auersperg & Kathleen Beckett

Fashion weeks in Paris, New York and Milan have ended, but

in Palm Beach, fashion week is all season long along Worth Avenue, the fabled shopping street of the exclusive island.

Rivaling Rue de Fauborg St. Honore, Madison Avenue and Rome's Via Venet0, the fashion is abetted by Worth Avenue's fabulous dining establishments, who invite models in gorgeous clothing and accessories to drift through at lunch, pausing to talk and describe the chic clothes they are wearing.

And what garments and jewelry, shoes and bags!  Worth Avenue is home to Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Brooks Brothers, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Emilio Pucci and Saks Fifth Avenue, along with many designer boutiques.  The jewelry is peerless, with Graff, Tiffany, Cartier Van Cleef and Arpels, and the accessories and shoes stores Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo  and Stubbs & Wootton with its new limited edition Wall Street line celebrating the Dow's rise.,

Stores also in Newport include Sequin, with two stores, and J. McLaughlin.

Angela Moore is currently negotiating new space on Worth Avenue, we hear.

At a recent lunch at Renato's restaurant with NewPalmer Kathleen Beckett, who  served as our model  for our fashion odyssey, we were delighted to see Sasha voAuersperg, wearing her mother,

NewPalmer Ala von Auersperg's, gorgeous designs.

After lunch, we found Ala's boutique in a corner of the Stubbs & Wootton store, and immediately began trying on the exquisite clothes.

Just off the Avenue are many attractive and unique boutiques, and we found NewPalmer Marilyn Woloohojian attending her cousin Lucine Almas' showing of her unique hand crafted jewelry at the Michelle Farmer Collaborate on South County Road near The Breakers. Ms. Woloohojian ordered an exquisite bracelet.

After that, it was off to lunch at Ta-Boo, the excellent restaurant on Worth, for fine food and, of course, gorgeous models drifting through.

For shopping, dining, and exquisite ambiences, Worth Avenue is worth its weight in gold.
