"Tuns" of Fun, and Barrels of Laughs at Bellevue Wine & Spirits Holiday Wine Tasting

The C-Notes MIssionaries at play

Newport Vineyards was the fascinating (and appropriate) venue for the Bellevue Avenue Wine & Spirits Holiday Wine Tasting Event benefiting the Newport County YMCA. . We could’ve been in the Napa Valley, or the Barossa Valley in Australia, seeing the behind the scenes areas where wine is created and aged, with giant containers kept at the exactly right temperatures.

Dave Maitland and YMCA CEO Mike Miller

Not that beer and cider was slighted.  It was there, being handed out by brewers, as the wine was poured by various vendors and vineyards.  There were over 1,500 unlimited craft beers, wines and cider tastings available to guests.

The fundraiser is the creation of John Callaghan, now in its 9th year.  And this year, the hors d’oeuvres and some nibbles were masterfully executed by Executive Chef of Newport Vineyards Andy Teixeira. The music was infectious, too, played by the C Note Missionaries.

Mike Miller, YMCA CEO, moved  about among the guests, seeing that all went well (which of course it did),  as food was served by local restaurants Midtown Oyster Bar, The Clarke Cooke House, Pour Judgement, Aquidneck Meat & Provisions, Sardella's Italian Restaurant and more

Silent auction items

Luxury silent auction items such as Premium New England Patriot tickets, a ski weekend condo rental in New Hampshire, Golf Packages & and  more all going to support youth programs at the Y.  Mr. Callaghan poured throughout the evening, discussing the wines with guests.

Seen were Dave Maitland, Stacie Mills, Bill Rudkin, Kelly Coen and Michael Semenza from Salve Regina, Ginny Purviance, Brad Shear and Erin Dollard from The Potter league for Animals.

A fine and festive time was had by all!
