Newport Music Festival Victor Borge Fundraiser
A film about the great musician and humorist Victor Borge, featuring the second American screening of the Danish documentary “The Funniest Man in the World” and complete with popcorn, hors d’oeuvres, and wine, was held recently at The Jane Pickens Theater and Events Center on the square in Newport you celebrate the pianist’s 100th birthday.
Mr. Borge is being honored at this years Newport Music Festival, which opened July 10 and runs through the 26th, Sixty chamber music programs are being held in Newport Mansions and will continue the tradition of presenting American debuts, world-class artists and special events in the Gilded Age “summer cottages” of Newport, Rhode Island.
