The "Ladies of Lila" travel internationally, bringing home prizes, honors, affiliations, knowledge, and occasionally, attractive European brokers. This time, they -- Melanie Delman, Robin Nicholson, and Geer Messinger -- voyaged to Toronto (post - Toronto Film festival), to receive the Affiliate of the Year honors in the Small-Market Category at Christie's Great Estates’s 2010 Global Annual Conference for Owners and Senior Management.

“We are so honored to be selected from among our affiliates worldwide to bring this honor home to Rhode Island”, said Melanie Delman, President of Lila Delman Real Estate, upon accepting the award.

It was a fabulous moment for the "Ladies": “I am delighted to announce Lila Delman Real Estate is the winner in the small-market category at this year’s Global Annual Conference in Toronto,” said Zackary Wright, Senior Vice President and Director, Project Development Marketing, Americas. “Lila Delman has continually shown expertise in using the brand to the company’s advantage, with powerful messages that underscore their exclusive ties with the world’s leading auction house and its worldwide reach.”

Melanie Delman also participated in the conference as an expert speaker on Christie’s Great Estates Bespoke Marketing Program, an enhanced and customized marketing program for the most significant properties in Rhode Island and globally.

Launched this year by Christie's, the Affiliate-of-the-Year Awards recognizes brokerages in three categories—small (population less than 275,000), medium (population between 275,000 and 1,750,000), and large (population over 1,750,000) markets. The recipient of the medium-market award was Ken Jacobs of Sydney, Australia. The large-market winner was Brown Harris Stevens Residential Sales of Manhattan, New York.

Headquartered in Narragansett, with five offices around the state of Rhode Island, Lila Delman Real Estate was founded in 1964 and represents the Christie’s brand in Newport, Narragansett, Jamestown, and surrounding communities. An exclusive affiliate of Christie’s Great Estates since 1995, Lila Delman Real Estate was recognized for outstanding achievements in their local marketplace as well as exemplary use of the Christie’s Great Estates brand and programs.  The firm is now run by Melanie Delman and John Hodnett, and is a committed member and contributor to preservation, historic and community organizations designed to preserve and build on the rich heritage of Rhode Island's coast and landmarks. It also negotiates an enormous percentage of the multi-million dollar (and celebrity) sales around Rhode Island.
