Iris Apfel Peered Through Her Signature Round Glasses at Rib & Rhein

Lifestyle & Design

Host Thomas Ribeiro & Iris Apfel

During the Newport Flower Show, it was “Apfel Blossom Time” at the the chic boutique, Rib & Rhein — just off fabled Bellevue Avenue.

New York fashion icon Iris Apfel brought a stunning array of Atelier Swarovski jewelry, hand picked by the designer, who was in a flowery Versace ensemble.  So was Erin Ribeiro, an homage to the Flower Show.

Champagne was served by Rib & Rhein owners Thomas and Erin Ribeiro, and guests included Newport fashionistas  Sharon Cameron Lawn, Mary Marwick, Melissa Holder, Juliet Brown and Janelle Feigley.  Russell Pagliughi was in from New York, and eyed  the men’s clothing room approvingly.

Mary McGeough bought a fabulous necklace, and Ms. Apfel was attentive to each guest.  After all, her signature saying is "More is More, and Less ia a Bore."
