Celebrating Queen, Community and the Royal Family at St. Columba's 25th Annual Garden Party

Volunteer with Linda Naiss

Cheerio, pip pip, and all that rot!

It wasn't just the Devonshire Cream Tea, or the flower arrangements in the chapel depicting vignettes of the Royal family.  Or a life-sized cutout of Queen Elizabeth welcoming visitors to the Chapel for a concert, or the Morris Dancers cavorting at regular intervals and hitting sticks together all afternoon!

The Morris Dancers in front of the Chapel

And then there was a re-creation of Harry Potter's Hogwarts for the young visitors, who could have their picture taken in a pointed black hat on a throne. We expected Daniel Radcliffe to pop in.

We were decidedly transported to "Merrie Olde England" for a charmed afternoon, created by hard working committees, which included a silent auction, a Treasure Trove sale tent, a scrumptious baked goods sale, pony rides, a lovely plant emporium, a parade of antique cars, a petting zoo for children, a hat contest ......we could go on.

The crowds were enchanted, the weather spectacular.

The annual event raises money for St. Columba's general and outreach funds.
