A Towering Fashion Event Supports ALS

It was the astonishing view of Narragansett Bay, and Bob Velardi arriving with a golf club that reminded guests where they actually were: the Tower at The Carnegie Abbey Club. Otherwise, it was a floating party in the clouds at the Women's Council of Realtors fashion show ?and 2013 Annual Fundraiser to benefit the ALS Association of Rhode Island.

The golf club was part of an extensive live and silent auction that included a 1-night stay at the Carnegie Abbey Tower and a round of golf/or golf lesson with a Pro, a Newport Gulls Gift Package, and a 1 hour design consultation from All About Redecorating. Designer Jan Girouard was there talking with Deborah Merritt and Karen Heagle about staging properties for sale. Along with Mr. Velardi, a few men were allowed, including sponsor and the only male model George Levine, David Leys, Mike Miller, Paul Leys, and Chad Kritzas.

Chairman Erica Sousa was busily seeing to the models and clothes, and Michelle Jarzombek Drum was seemingly everywhere. The fashion show was held on a red carpet (actually a slim piece of fabric more like a giant beach towel, fittingly.)

Ms. Sousa greeted the guests. George Levine spoke, and announcer ??
intrduced ??? of the ALS Chapter, Providence, who spoke movingly about the work being accomplished.

Fashions by Angela Moore, Stalise, W by Worth, and Laura Jean were worn by the sassy and elegant models, and elicited applause and appreciation. Seen were Bridgette Soby,  Annamarie Ringheim, Jenn Little and other WCR fashionistas.  Carnegie Abbey's Nina Beacher graciously poured wine for guests.
